Our story

Acts Two was founded in 2004 by Maria, who returned to Poptun after nine years of being away from her relatives. Upon noticing a neglected area near her parents’ home, she envisioned reclaiming the land to create a communal space where the local community could unlock their potential, cultivate skills, and actively participate in society. Inspired by Maria’s vision and guided by their faith, Maria and her husband Keith embarked on a journey together to realize this mission. They began by drafting plans and securing funds to purchase the land, marking the inception of Acts Two.

Their initial efforts involved a six-month-long endeavor to clear the area, which had been serving as a garbage dump and a hub for criminal activities, drug trafficking, and abuse. Since then, Acts Two has been dedicated to combating crime and poverty, with a focus on improving access to education for the youth, fostering economic opportunities, and enhancing community health.
